From MineDesignWiki - Collaborating to create mining best practice
Welcome to MineDesignWiki
An open collaborative website to advance mining
The handbook is intended to be a comprehensive reference for both the process and details of current mine design practice. It is principally aimed at practicing mining engineers but it is hoped that it will also be useful to upper year mining engineering students. The wiki format was chosed as it allows for easy access anywhere in the world, is easily updateable, and contributions can be made by a wide authorship. To fulfill this goal, we encourage you the users to consider submitting an article on a topic of your interest if it is missing, or to submit comments on the discussion pages where you think modifications should be made. This resource cannot live and grow without your contributions.
A more detailed description of the objectives of this mine design wiki and the scope and contents of major design topics (chapters) can be found here.
Using this wiki
For users familiar with Wikipedia, navigation in this wiki is the same. Navigation to the topic you are interested in can be done in various ways:
- using the navigation bar on the left, go to the main Table of contents, to a listing of articles by chapter or a more extensive listing here
- use the search box on the left, just below the navigation box
Extensive use is also made of hyperlinks to various topics embedded in related articles throughout the wiki. These are shown as text in blue. Text in red indicates a link to a page that does not yet exist - an opportunity for you to make a contribution.
If you would like to participate in development of MineDesignWiki, we invite you to become a member and submit an article. We have prepared a guide on how to get started to help in this process. You can also contact us directly if you have any questions or would like some assistance.
